Interviewer: Doctor, in terms of sports medicine, do you see a lot of patients coming for help after . . .
Dr. Joel Baumgartner: Oh yeah.
Interviewer: . . . obviously you see a lot of injuries in sports. Do you see a lot of those type of patients?
Dr. Joel Baumgartner: We do. We see a lot of athletes in their twenties, in their thirties. If you look at PRP has gotten some glamour because of a lot the professional athletes like Tiger Woods to Rafael Nadal. A ton of different professional football players have gotten it done. You get back into action a lot of faster. It's going to repair your injury three or four times faster than letting it heal on its own. Plus, it's going to heal it more fully. Guys like Tiger and Raf, its probably saved their careers. I mean the amount of pennies it cost to have the procedure done, versus what they've been able to do for their careers. They've had something non-surgically done is invaluable to people like that.
Athletes know, they're a little bit spoiled, but they sometimes have access to the newest available things out there.
Interviewer: Sure.
Dr. Joel Baumgartner: They get all the glamour. When it comes to our clinic, we do treat a lot of athletes. We treat professional athletes. A far of our patients are run of the mill, people who are much more thankful. It's just more fun to do. Athletes are making it popular.
