Dr. Mary Newport grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated form the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1978. Dr. Newport has practiced neonatology in Florida since 1983 and has been medical director of the newborn intensive care unit at Spring Hill Regional Hospital since 2003.
Dr. Newport has been married to her husband, Steve, since 1972. Since Steve started developing symptoms of Alzheimer's Disease, Dr. Newport has been a tireless researcher into dietary interventions that may help. Dr. Newport wrote Alzheimer's Disease: What If There Was A Cure? in 2011. She continues to travel and speak about her family's experience with the disease and other neurodegenerative diseases.
